Back to basics?

Back to basics?

Dear friends

You have always, and since the beginning, been very numerous to support the Pioupiou project.

When I started, it was a purely selfless initiative.

Here is the presentation of the time :

“Actually, it bothers me to do real business. I'm here for
play with electronics. Not to deal with problems of
accounts, standards or legal obligations.

As I said, it's about making prototypes to validate the concept and hope that real boxes get started. »

I hadn't planned on making a career out of it. Then reality set in
quickly imposed. It quickly became a full-time activity. It was necessary to register a company, to raise funds from professional investors… I have moved away from the initial project.

On the other hand, I've seen the tremendous support you've shown over the past few weeks.

Today, I personally ask myself the question: would it be possible to return to the sources and return the project to its community?

What if we transformed Pioupiou into a company that would belong to its users? The professional investors would be replaced by the community. It could be an SAS with community governance or why not even a cooperative?

At this point, it's just an idea. But I'm very curious to see its potential or your comments.

Would you be ready to participate?

    1. It is better to have 1 shareholder at 1000 euros than 20 shareholders at 50 euros. Otherwise, it quickly becomes unmanageable.

An industrial project of this type quickly amounts to hundreds of thousands of euros.

  1. Personally, I would take a few actions to support the project, at 50 or 100 euros but more, it seems complicated to me.
afterwards it must be possible to let the majority shareholders vote, or in proportion to the participation.

  2. Hello,
    I understand the process...

… but one point is not clear: whatever the form of the company, it will be necessary to ensure the same administrative, legal, technical, legal, managerial tasks, etc…

So back to the starting point: Nicolas will have to do all these boring things again...

At 1000 euros, we approach the order of magnitude of a commercial anemometer….

The first step to motivate investors would be to publish a list of current existing equipment rendering the same service, or existing one rendering almost the same service with some adaptations. It is difficult and risky to imagine a new product that does not exist at all.

In my area there are several anemometers that provide the same service as a Pioupiou from other manufacturers. That said, we have one of the very first Pioupiou which works very well.

  3. I hesitated for a few minutes, but I think you have to have your eyes wide open…

You have to know your competitors well to ensure the future of a company.

I support Nicolas, but knowing that Pioupiou is not alone. Here is a competitor who sells an equivalent for around €700: https://holfuy.com/fr/about

It is in relation to this kind of information that the interest of investing in Pioupiou must be argued, which I support...

    1. Hello,
As far as we are concerned, for information, our Pioupiou has been taken hostage for two months by the Belgians. Sent on the advice of after-sales service after a breakdown, we no longer have any news despite our calls and messages.
At the moment, we can't get it back.
In business, it's not enough to play games… There are also customers who expect a minimum of service and stability!
The competition will have no trouble taking the place.
      It was the Pioupiou 461…

  4. Hello on HOLFUY to have an anemometer .. provide at least 1000 euro.
More and you add an M2M SIM subscription. And in France it stings the price of the package.

And maybe because it's not very clear on the site, server fees.
So you are very far for an equivalent.

Pioupiou, his strengths. Much cheaper. more compact. Simple to use. French material.
Made by a super mechanical engineer. I was happy to open one.
A feast for the eyes. It's perfect.
Weakness. Maintenance service – after sales…
    🙁
    Damage.
    Good adventures for Nicolas Baldek.
    I wish him good health.
    Start well in life.
