It's not an April Fool's joke

News from the beacons, live from the hemicycle of the Ile de France Regional Council.

Today it's the State Of The Map organized by our dear cricri. (Another paragliding star!)

There are only 24 hours a day, so you have to optimize 😉 One eye on the gentleman who speaks, one eye on the computer.

The right track

So in yesterday's TGV, I finally finished drawing the electronic board. It looks something like this:

Casually, it was work...

Above all, a lot of pressure when sending the drawings to the factory. Recheck for the 26th time that we haven't forgotten the little detail that kills and that makes the card unusable...

I initially intended to order the 25 cards directly. But I was reasoned with: “Have you ever seen a card that works the first time, have you? ".

I had the design checked by a colleague, who replied with a job offer. It had to suit him.

So, following the advice of the wise, I placed an order for 3 prototype copies:

The process is underway...

Just waiting for the postman. Normally, next Wednesday 🙂

Thursday and Friday, appointments are made to put it all together and play with the measuring instruments.

In the rules

Discussion with the people at Lacrosse Technology, manufacturer of the anemo that I use.

Good news: So I now officially have the right to tweak / hack / martyrize and resell their product.

Of course, I have to manage on my own: (but that's normal)

No technical data can be communicated to you and we decline all responsibility for the consequences in the event of misuse of one of our products and/or its transformation and/or modification.

I also made a formal request to the FFVL to be able to integrate these beacons into the federal network.

We will discuss it soon in the Steering Committee on the advice of the Federal Commission for Practice Spaces.

almost vacation

Next weekend, (in a week), I am fleeing for a month on the Island of Oléron.

I'm going to work, in real life, with a boss and everything.

At work, surrounded by my disciples

So I'm going to have to move all my electronics lab into the mobile home.

The good news is that it's just the perfect job to finish up that weather beacon. I'll be able to install it at the beach hut.

The less good news is that while I would be taking my Easter vacationers around the roundabout, I would have much less time to take care of all that... And it's not like if I was already barely out of time :/

The roundabout, better than on TV

This article tells you about the birth of Piou Piou, the first 100% autonomous and affordable sensor to measure the wind live, even where there is no electricity or internet.
