The adventure goes on
There had been no news on this blog since the end of August.. Suffice to say, it's been an eternity! The storm is over. So here I am back.
It's finish
First good news: 99% of the Pioupious are delivered!!! The map will therefore continue to thicken in the days to come.
Following that, I put the remaining Pioupious up for sale. But it didn't last long. It only took 24 hours for my stock to be stripped.
And go again
So second good news: we are going to launch the production of a second series.
I will launch orders next week, at the same time as the new site. There is still a bit of work to do:
Bigger
Little Pioupiou has taken his first steps. He took a lot of insurance.
Now it is the age of adolescence. Our Pioupiou has big plans, and he's going to need a lot to eat.
No longer possible, therefore, to laugh with “Bac Plus Zéro, SAS with a capital of 100 €”. I really liked that name. It made me laugh to mark that on my invoices (especially when addressed to universities).
Alas, it made my suppliers laugh less – especially when it came to negotiating payment terms. Brief. As for the moment we still live in a world where the bank is in charge, sometimes you have to play the game.
Bye bye, therefore, Bac Plus Zero ». Welcome to « The Wind Company ».
I take this opportunity, incidentally, to increase the share capital to €35. It will allow me to be entitled to public aid (because if you don't have any money, you don't qualify − go figure…)
Some will see in it a desire to open up to the international market − we are not going to hide it!
Some others will see it as an opportunity to invest in a sexy startup − in this case, my email is nicholas@pioupiou.fr
Stronger
To grow, there will be work. In other words, I can no longer work alone.
The first recruit of this new school year is called Lise:
She loves Kangaroos, and she launches Pirate Balloons at the Coupe Icare:
But above all, she will be there to take care of you.
That way, you can get a quick response to all your emails, while I work like crazy to prepare the rest 😉
By the way, if you're reading these lines, you've just graduated, and you don't know what to do this year...
more trendy
We even have a new Facebook page!
follow us on facebook.com/piupiou.fr
Don't hesitate to come and share photos of your Pioupiou.
More Coupe Icarus
And of course, see you next weekend at the Icarus Cup. We have a lot to celebrate!
We will be in the Barish pavilion, stand H15 (just in front of second-hand sails)
Banzai!

“if you read these lines, that you have just graduated”…. hehe, bac plus zero it's over snifff
it's nice to read lines of the future (radiant) .... the adventure continues 🙂
No. Do not panic. It was just another formulation to say "if you want to come play with us, and you don't have a lot of immediate financial pressure like children or mortgage…"
Phew! Here I am reassured… My RSS reader had seized on the fly a disturbing article that was later taken offline! Glad to see it was just a joke/mistake/passing blues!
We have just seen the two-hundredth pioupiou pioupiout!
By the way, we notice that the pioupiou 283 at Mont Mezenc in the 07 (Ardèche), has been playing with winds of more than 100 km/h for a few hours!! rough rough!!
To be continued: paraveyron.franceserv.com/pioupiou/etat_pioupiou.php
The Icarus cut.. yes
Alain
It would be really nice to be able to edit the pages of the pioupiou and see them position themselves or be positioned on the maps… The season ending… Thank you
??
pioupiou.fr/map
that?
When is the module ready to copy and paste on the association's website?
If it's a widget I have this: http://paraveyron.franceserv.com/pioupiou/widget_pioupiou.php
you can download the file here: http://paraveyron.franceserv.com/WidgetPioupiou.zip
You can also set the number of modules (new)

Alain
Thank you!
HTML is not my forte. I want to install a widget on the SNGM website http://www.sngm.asso.fr in the right column (l 220) for the pioupiou 417 installed in La Grande Motte. Can you help me ?
Hello,
what do you mean by 220? (width in px?)
Yes, it is the width of the FB module for example.
No problem…
we contact each other by email (easier and faster!) we will avoid polluting this blog!
paraveyron@free.fr
Send me a message…
For those who might be interested (widget):
http://www.sngm.asso.fr/
(speed in marine knots!)
I suppose it is to integrate into a sis web with PHP?
is there a way to make it a widget for windows to put on the desktop like the weather widget?
please
Hello,
In truth, I hadn't thought of that!
I doubt I have the skills, but I like the idea, I'll take a look!
A +
hello, my son who tinkers in electronics, has already done this as an amateur, by recovering values on the site of the "romma" stations, it must be possible for Pioupiou, if you are interested, contact me: le.zool@wanadoo.fr
I think it will interest people … the data recovery mode is already clearly developed, remains to put it in a widget for windows ….
I looked at the principle and a priori it is not very complicated.
The only problem that lies in its design is that w10 no longer accepts them except for a major hack!
In terms of xp or w7 it seems largely doable.
On the other hand I have w10, and suddenly I have to find a laptop in my neighborhood to test my codes!
I'll keep you informed…
AB
I gathered the pioupious who sing: paraveyron.franceserv.com/pioupiou/etat_pioupiou.php
By crossing the FFVL data of the known sites and the map (http://paraveyron.free.fr/pioupiou/carte_pioupiou.php) we have the names of 94 of them.
I added the one hour history in a small table for each of them..
……
See you
Alain
Would it be possible in the next series to integrate a temperature sensor?
That would be great and I'm buying a second one
Either the sensor is closed inside and it's distorted, or it puts its nose under the pioupiou and it's also distorted by the sun's rays, or it's inside but in an area in the shape of a mini weather shelter and it could be right at times but the humidity could impact the electronics, either it is external and communicates by radio with the pioupiou and the measurement would be correct, but that only a "magician" like Nicolas can do do… we would then move towards an autonomous weather station and no longer an autonomous anemometer… to be continued because there is a market!
inside not so distorted because the pioupiou is white! afterwards it is not a standardized shelter of a station but it would be more than enough
The top (for boats) would be wind measurement by ultrasound (corrected by accelerometer), temperature and pressure measurement, magnetic compass, local transmission by BLE (+SIGFOX…) and possibility of power supply by 10 -26v from the boat 🙂
I will add more for the temperature, I will also add (just out of greed) the possibility of putting life-style batteries and a horizontal solar panel to recharge them to further increase the autonomy.
I don't know the speed accessible on sigifox but a webcam in 640*480 once an hour would be good to have visibility as well (what's the point of climbing the slope with the right wind if the visibility is 4-5 m ?)
A+
I am very happy with my PiouPiou as it is.
Of course it may be possible to add and add and add more expensive and less practical cases, but PiouPiou is a particular design: easy, small, light and mobile.
And above all (and no less interesting) less expensive!
Congratulations Nicolas for very practical choices.
Arnout (piou 110)
Here is our webapp for mobile http://ulm-nostradamus.fr/appli-meteo.php
or our website page http://ulm-nostradamus.fr/meteoLFNE.php
Pioupiou is awesome!
I take the idea of the temperature to which I would add the relative humidity.
example: http://www.robotshop.com/eu/fr/capteurs-temperature-humidite-dth11-dfrobot.html
This would make it possible to calculate the dew point, and therefore the base of the cloud ceiling.
It's more realistic than a camera, especially with low-speed 20-byte frames 😉
We can dream …. 😉
on the side of cherbourg, it may remain stuck between 95 and 100% relative humidity, and to know if there is sea mist or not ….
but just the temperature would be good (the sensor outside, in a small tunnel molded on the bottom which will necessarily be in the direction of the wind, would prevent the water from entering and would protect the thing from the heat of the sun while optimizing the precision.. )
it shouldn't burden the budget too much (except perhaps at the level of the realization of new molds for the body of the thing (eventually provide an add-on for the handymen to stick or screw on it. remains to be seen if there is possibility of 'access one or more pins on the IC to solder this - at the risk and peril of whoever does it 😉 )
This comment has been removed by the author.
Even on the Cherbourg side, the rules for calculating the dew point and cloud base must apply 🙂
Besides, don't get stuck on preconceptions, look at the humidity curves of Cherbourg 🙂
And budget question between temp probe or temp + humidity it is played at 2 or 3 €
don't increase the manufacturing price too much either...
Any news about the arrival of the new site? 🙂
Hello,
Here, our Pioupiou is installed, nice work Nicolas, congratulations and all my best wishes for the developments to come!
A question: the value of the pressure is in the cabbage: more than 20 mb of difference compared to the reading of the airport which is 10km away... Reading on another Pioupiou of the region, same observation of error of the pressure .
Is it a breakdown, or simply the fact that the pressure indication is not yet wired in this first version of Pioupiou?
A+ Robert
The pressure returned by the pioupiou is absolute and therefore varies according to altitude. It can be deduced that the airport may not be at the same altitude or that it provides relative pressure (calculated from sea level). http://www.station-meteo.com/pression-atmospherique-relative-absolue/
Heuuu … hummm … yes … of course … but in this case, the altitude is the same to within 10 meters, we are in the plain, and almost at sea level to within 100 meters 🙂
QNH = QNE with us!
Whoops ! verification made, our small altitude relative to the sea is enough to explain the difference in pressure to the precision of the measurement….
Apologies for asking such a stupid question!
Hello, "The pressure returned by the pioupiou is absolute and therefore varies according to the altitude. We can deduce that the airport may not be at the same altitude or that it provides a relative pressure (calculated from sea level). http://www.station-meteo.com/pression-atmospherique-relative-absolue/" that's what I also said to myself except that I can't explain all the differences that I read… Having great confidence in my pioupiou 293, I would say that the B 709 sometimes says c… haha!
